Waste - Septic
In the suburbs, what is flushed is typically gone. In the rurals, what is flushed is moved from bathroom to sewer pipe to septic tank to disbursement to leech lines, all still on your property. Percs (percolable), aerobic, anaerobic will all beoe part of your vocabulary.

Domestic/Pets
In the rurals many pets serve other functions, livestock protection, critter/varmint control, etc. However, we still consider them a part of our families.
