I have a vegetable garden about 150 feet from the home. I want a small space attached to it where I can store plant food, tools, maybe do a little potting. Should it be built on drainage rock, a concrete slab, piers with a raised floor, or an actual foundation? I am thinking an 8'x8' so can can buy standard sized wood, plywood, or siding. I would use ground contact rated pressure treated wood for the base. We are in the planning stages.

I like concrete and just a 3-sided building, unless critters are a problem. The open side faces into the garden. The concrete slopes very slightly toward the open end. Pressure treated 2x4's as the bottom plate and stainless steel hold downs, because pressure treated causes issues. Hot dipped galvanized is OK, SS is best. Anything with a void under the floor is not good, rocks are a drag to build on. We did ours on rock, I wish we had not.
